The YHA Katoomba offers a very friendly, clean and spacious hostel accommodation. This hostel offers plenty of information on the area, walking and hikes and general tourist activities to do in the beautiful Blue Mountains. The staff of YHA Katoomba were happy to give answers and helpful advice on our questions and queries about the surrounding area.

The bedrooms are large and clean, with lockers and the modern showers with enough hot water for everyone. The hot showers are a real treat after a long day hike in the mountains, but even better – this hostel is equipped with a bath.

The kitchen is big, clean and very well equipped. Once you have prepared your meal, you can enjoy dinner in the large dining area, located conveniently next to the kitchen.

The groups of the people staying at this hostel is always, very mixed. You will meet families, backpackers, older travellers and couples.

After having finished one of the many walks around Katoomba you will enjoy relaxing on one of the cosy sofas next to the open fire, play a game of pool or make yourself comfortable in the reading room.

The Good:

  • Friendly staff

The not so Good:

  • Not well sign posted via train station
