The Maze, Sydney

The Maze Hostel in Sydney has a fantastic location, a brisk 20minute walk down the main shopping drag, and you will be at the Sydney Opera House. The Maze Hostel is cheap for the central location, but in this instance, you definitely get what you pay for.

In short, the Maze Hostel is a real dive. Inside, the Maze Hostel is large and as the name suggests, easy to get lost in. It seems no matter which way you turn, the confusing mess of corridors always lead you to smelly toilets. Unlike a real Maze, this Maze Hostel is no fun to get lost in.

The rooms are noisy and messy with rubbish littered over the floor, and this wasn’t just in one dorm. None of the rooms have any power sockets, you have to venture out into the maze to locate one. You really are paying for just a bed here. But even this, falls short of basic expectations – the top bunks have no side rail and the mattresses are sagging with age.
