Lima City and a Night at Lima Airport

Short taxi ride to the centre of Lima to explore the sites for one day, before flying out to Bogota, Columbia.

Just been locked in a museum for the last ten minutes because of a street riot kicking off outside, lots of armed police. The museum staff assume they are going to crash inside. Andy looks for a fire exit.

The catacombs of Church San Francisco are very impressive. Unbelievable how many bodies were buried here. All you can see now are hundreds of skulls and bones. A very unusual sight!

After being stared at by lots of weird creatures in the busy streets of Lima, we decide to take a taxi back to the airport and have dinner there instead. It doesn’t feel too safe in the city after dark.

Seen all the souvenir shops of Lima airport for the third time, having another drink at the food court. Our flight departs in eight hours. Yawn. Maybe one more look at those souvenirs..

Trying to fall asleep in an airport corridor. Other people seem to have the same idea. It just doesn’t get comfortable. I’m waking up every 15 minutes with aching limbs.

03.00 Same place. Nothing changed, apart from my mood that is.

06.30 Finally boarded and taking off! Never has an airplane seat felt so comfy!
