Intiq Samana, Cusco

Intiq Samana is located a short walk from the central plaza in Cusco, Peru. We arrived early in the morning, and were greeted by a sleepy receptionist in the spacious reception area. A number of people/staff members were sleeping on the sofas and behind the main desk, all of which not too happy to have been woken early for work.

The tiny doubles with shared bathroom are small, dark and have filthy shared bathrooms. We had no idea when the bathroom was last cleaned, there was no evidence of any activity here for at least 6months. Upstairs accommodates the roomier bedrooms, with private bathrooms available, but are significantly more expensive.

Intiq Samana offers fast, reliable internet access and has a small kitchen, which is extremely poorly equipped. Apart from making a basic cupa-soup, cooking here is almost impossible its a struggle to even find a cup for said soup. Unfortunately breakfast is only included if you book a room with private bathroom. your money will go a lot further elsewhere in Cusco – head to the centre for a wealth of other options.

  • Bathrooms are dirty
  • Dark, small bedrooms
  • Expensive
