Hostel Review

In the centre of Uyuni sits the striking blue windowed building of Hotel Mosoj. Located next to the clock tower, this hotel is impossible to miss.

On arrival, we squeeze our backpacks down the small corridor and into the reception area.

The rooms are large, clean and very bright. Our room included TV and private bathroom, which provided ample hot water (limited 3 hours) after being out in the cold Salt Flats.

Unfortunately our room had two broken windows, which meant an icy cold draft crept in over night – The tiled floor gets seriously cold – but by the time you arrive in Uyuni you will be used to wearing three pairs of socks.

To our surprise, the price of this hotel is better value than the HI Hostel located on the same road.

Staff are friendly and make an effort here. The hotel lacks features such as laundry service, seating/table areas and breakfast options, but you can store your luggage while you embark one one of the many Uyuni three day salt plain tours.

The Good:

• Bright, clean rooms
• Friendly, helpful staff

The not so Good:

• Clock tower next door is very loud
• Cold at night in the room
• Shower soaks the entire bathroom, toilet smells of death at times
