Halse Lodge YHA, Noosa Heads
![]()
Halse Lodge arguably has the best location if you looking for quick access to Hasting Street’s shopping drag, Main beach and the National Park. Set in an typically Queensland style building, Halse Lodge is a pleasant hostel to spend a few nights.
The hostel is generally clean, and a number of room options are available. A number of tours and services are easily arranged here, including surf board hire and lessons.

With the YHA stamp, you can have confidence this hostel will offer good services to its guests, and it does. The restaurant serves good inexpensive food, and the bar and decking areas get lively most evenings, especially at the weekends.
The down side is the weekend noise from the resident long haired guitar player, who for some unknown reason gets tanked on cheap beer, then attempts to shout ‘Wonder Wall’ by Oasis at everyone on the decking. Rumour has it Halse Lodge actually pays for this regular weekend service.
The Good:
- Proximity to Noosa’s best offerings
- Building has plenty of character
- Good food and drink
The not so Good:
- Higher priced than offer hostels in the area
- Gets very busy
