Casa Holanda, Taganga




As the name suggests, Casa Holanda is run by a Dutch owner. Casa Holanda is located just 3minutes from the beach and right in the center of the Taganga.

On arrival we are welcomed and quickly shown the available rooms. All of which are clean and very new, offering private bathrooms and comfy beds. The hostel is great value considering the rooms and breakfast options, which are served daily in the public facing restaurant. For breakfast you have a wide choice (eggs, muesli, pancakes, fruit salad etc) all of which is fresh and tasty. Quality coffee and fruit juices are served alongside your breakfast choice.

The restaurant is also a solid choice for lunches and evening meals, serving a wide variety of dishes which again are freshly prepared. The bar next to restaurant is a good place to cool down with a few beers and watch the world go by, prices are competitive and a happy hour goes on most evenings.

The communal area is located in the courtyard, and is decked out with hammocks, seating and a TV in the corner. All the staff here at Casa Holanda are very helpful and aim to please. If you are looking for sound accommodation in Taganga, and don’t mind not having a swimming pool (see Divanga review here) then stay here, the European influence is obvious and it beats everything else in the area.

The Good:

  • Great location
  • Brand new comfortable rooms
  • Friendly staff
  • Big and fresh breakfasts

The not so Good:

  • Stark communal area, lacks character
